Michael Asmerom was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He moved, with his family, to the United States when he was 8 years old and they settled in Harlem, New York.
Michael attended the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he attained an undergrad degree in Business Management and since then he has become an entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
He started his first business, a T-shirt company, when still in his freshman year of college and went on to have second one which finds the cheapest textbooks for college students. Currently, Michael is a full-time entrepreneur, speaker and perusing his MBA.
When he first moved to America, Michael had no grasp of the country or the language. This culture shock, along with the bullying he experienced, was part of what inspired him to work hard to escape the poverty which surrounded him and his first book, African Booty Scratcher, is the humorous and entertaining story of his struggle to adapt and be accepted.
Since coming to America, Michael has embraced the idea of the American dream and continues to work hard to achieve it. He also hopes that he will be able to inspire others to change their lives too, no matter what their circumstances are.
